
Deep Fried Egg
Crispy deep-fried eggs with golden, bubbly whites and perfectly runny yolks. This indulgent technique creates an incredibly crispy exterior while maintaining a creamy center for the ultimate textural contrast.
Ingredients
- 1Large Eggs1-2 very fresh large eggs
- 2Vegetable Oil3-4 cups neutral oil for deep frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)
- 3SaltPinch of flaky sea salt
- 4Black PepperFreshly ground black pepper to taste
- 5PaprikaPinch of smoked paprika (optional)
Instructions

Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer to 375°F (190°C). Use enough oil so the egg can float freely.

Crack each egg into a small bowl or ramekin first - this makes it easier to slide into the hot oil safely.

Once oil reaches temperature, carefully and quickly slide the egg from the bowl into the hot oil, starting from the edge closest to you.

The egg will immediately bubble and sizzle vigorously. Fry for 1-2 minutes until the whites are golden brown and crispy.

Using a slotted spoon, carefully turn the egg over and fry for another 30-60 seconds until both sides are golden and crispy.

Remove the egg with a slotted spoon and briefly drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Season immediately with flaky sea salt, black pepper, and paprika if desired.

Serve immediately while the exterior is still crispy and the yolk remains runny. Perfect over rice, salad, or with crusty bread.
